Voi Launches Next-Gen E-Scooters
Voi is expanding its fleet by ~40% in 2025 with three new vehicles: Voiager 8 (e-scooter), Explorer 4 (e-bike), and Explorer Light 1 (light e-bike).  These will roll out across multiple European countries, with the Explorer Light 1 piloted exclusively in the UK.
Germany’s Bike Fleet Hits Record in 2024
Germany's bicycle and e-bike market has reached a significant milestone, with the total fleet growing to 88.7 million units in 2024 - a 23% increase since 2014. The rapid adoption of e-bikes has been a key driver, with their numbers soaring to 15.7 million units, exceeding the national target of 15 million.
While overall bike sales have fluctuated, peaking at 5 million in 2020 and stabilizing at 3.9 million in 2024, e-bikes have continued to gain popularity. In contrast, sales of traditional bicycles have seen a steady decline, dropping from 3.6 million in 2018 to 1.8 million in 2024, as more consumers opt for electric alternatives.
Beam Mobility Launches in Albuquerque
Beam Mobility has launched its e-scooters in Albuquerque, deploying them at 65 designated stations. The fleet is expected to expand to 1k. Beam is the third operator in the city, following Lime and Spin.
Dott is Now Operating in 400+ Cities
Tier-Dott expanded its shared e-scooter service to Greece, reaching 400 cities in 21 countries across Europe and the Middle East. The Athens launch starts with 300 e-scooters, with plans to expand to other major cities and islands before the holiday season.
In March, Tier-Dott will roll out shared e-scooters and e-bikes in Trondheim (1k e-scooters), Nottingham (1.3k e-scooters), and Pinneberg, Germany (150 e-scooters, 50 e-bikes). Rentals in Trondheim begin on March 15.
Tier-Dott resumed service in Finland after a winter pause in Nordic countries. 10 of 35 cities are active, with more, including Helsinki, reopening soon based on weather conditions.
Zeus Scooters Reports Second Consecutive Year of Positive EBITDA
Dublin-based e-scooter sharing company Zeus Scooters reported approximately 12x EBITDA growth in 2024, reaching €740K, with nearly €5M in revenue. The company has remained EBITDA positive for two consecutive years, with Revenue per Ride increasing by 29% and Gross Margin by 39%. Founded in late 2020 with 40 e-scooters, Zeus did not seek external funding initially, relying on private investment to scale. As of 2024, the company has secured ~€6M in equity financing to support its expansion and has grown to 6,500 vehicles, primarily operating in Germany.
Yarra Council Raises E-Scooter Fees by 400%
Yarra Council has voted to raise e-scooter fees from $1 to $5 per scooter daily, a 400% increase, to make its trial revenue positive. Operating costs were $750k annually, but the trial generated only $180k in revenue. Lime and Neuron operate a combined 500 e-scooters in the area.
Toyota’s FT-Me Micromobility Concept Debuts
Toyota revealed its FT-Me, a compact electric vehicle designed for European cities. Less than 2.5m long, it takes up half a parking space and uses three times less energy than larger EVs. A solar roof adds 20-30 km of range daily, often eliminating the need to plug in.
Voi Hits 2m Rides in Vienna
Voi launched in Vienna in late 2023 and has now completed two million rides. Demand is particularly strong in the outskirts, with 60% of users living there. Most trips occur in Donaustadt and Floridsdorf, reinforcing e-scooters as a key part of Vienna’s mobility network.
St. Petersburg Extends Veo Scooter Service
Florida’s St. Petersburg City Council approved a three-month extension for Veo’s e-scooter service, preventing disruption after the March 14 contract expiration. Since 2020, riders have taken over 1.2m trips.
Rad Power Bikes Appoints New CEO
Rad Power Bikes has appointed Kathi Lentzsch as its new CEO. She succeeds Phil Molyneux, who stepped down after leading the company for more than two years. She has been part of leadership roles in Bartell Drugs, Pottery Barn, and Enesco with expertise in retail operations and brand positioning.
Bolt Expands Brussels E-Bike Fleet
Bolt is adding 1k new e-bikes to its Brussels fleet, bringing the total to 2.5k. E-bike usage in the city has increased by 27% over the past year. The average ride distance has grown to 3 km, driving the shift toward e-bikes.
Lime’s Significant Ride Growth in Washington, D.C.
Lime’s ridership in Washington D.C. has surged in early 2025, surpassing half a million rides within the first two months. February alone saw 322k rides by 62.6k riders, marking a 35% increase from January and a 40% rise compared to February 2024.
Cycle Cure Launches B2B Platform
Cycle Cure launched its B2B platform to help micromobility operators buy/sell used fleets and tackle high costs and resale issues. It serves those expanding, exiting, or testing markets. Buyers can start with 10 units, with flexible terms like lease-to-own and bulk discounts.
