Transport for London (TfL) is cutting Santander e-bike rental fees to £3 for 30 minutes (down 30p) from April 6. This adjustment aims to compete with dockless e-bike providers like Lime and Forest, which offer similar rates.
Other key pricing changes:
Pedal bikes remain £1.65 per ride.
Day pass increases to £3.50 but now allows 1-hour rides (up from 30 minutes).
Freezing Annual (£120) and monthly (£20) subscriptions.
With ridership declining amid dockless competition, TfL will double its e-bike fleet to 4k, add London’s first in-dock charging, and expand docking stations. Its 12k-bike fleet includes 2k e-bikes which are three times more popular than pedal bikes.
