Veo puts a Shared Electric Trike on the Street in Denver
Veo has launched Rover, North America’s first shared electric trike, in Denver, expanding micromobility access beyond traditional bikes and scooters. Designed with input from disability and senior advocacy groups, the three-wheeled vehicle offers greater stability, a 45-mile range, 100-pound cargo basket, and a 10 mph top speed. The launch is part of Veo’s broader push to make shared micromobility more accessible while testing demand for new vehicle types in US cities.
Forward Momentum: What Data Tell Us About Micromobility’s Comeback
At Micromobility Europe 2026, Prabin Joel Jones, CEO of Micromobility Industries and Mayten, opened the conference with a keynote marking the industry’s shift from last year’s theme of Hope to this year’s Forward Momentum. Looking at the progress of Donkey Republic, Swing, Nextbike, Ryde Technology, Voi, and Lime, he highlighted stronger revenues, improving profitability, renewed investor confidence, and expanding cycling infrastructure driving record ridership. Together, these trends signal that micromobility has moved beyond recovery and into a new phase of sustainable, long-term growth.

Redefining Last-Mile Delivery: Royal Mail and Minimal
Royal Mail and UK-based vehicle manufacturer Minimal are redefining urban delivery with the rollout of 20 Pedal 4 electric cargo cycles across six UK cities. As Minimal’s largest deployment to date, the collaboration brings together one of the UK’s largest delivery networks serving 32m addresses and handling 1.3B parcels annually, with a purpose-built vehicle designed for dense urban routes. With up to 2.5m³ of cargo capacity, a 37-mile range, and operating costs of around 3.3p per mile, Pedal 4 demonstrates how right-sized electric vehicles can help make last-mile logistics more efficient, flexible, and sustainable.
81% Less Carbon, 250% More Kilometers
Lime has reduced its carbon emissions intensity by 81.4% since 2019, even as the total distance traveled on its vehicles has grown by 249.6%. Rather than relying on electrification alone, the company credits its progress to more durable in-house vehicle design, swappable batteries, lower-carbon materials, cleaner freight logistics, and improved repair and recycling systems. Manufacturing remains Lime's largest emissions source, but it has cut manufacturing emissions intensity by 25.3% in 2025 while staying ahead of its science-based climate targets.
Brussels Court Cancels Shared Mobility Licenses
Following the Council of State's decision to cancel Brussels' shared mobility licenses, after a legal challenge from Lime, the region has instructed operators to remove all affected free-floating bikes and e-scooters from public spaces by 1 September 2026. The order applies to vehicles operated under the annulled licenses, including those of Bolt, Dott, and Voi, while Villo!, the city's station-based bike-share system, will continue operating under its extended concession until 2028. Brussels Mobility has also invited operators to discussions in mid-August to determine the next steps, while maintaining its separate plan to ban shared e-scooters entirely from 1 January 2027.
Bay Wheels Becomes Lyft Bike
Lyft has rebranded Bay Wheels as Lyft Bike, bringing its Bay Area bike-share service under the Lyft brand. The move marks the next chapter for one of the region’s longest-running shared mobility systems, with Lyft continuing to invest in fleet upgrades, including new-generation pedal bikes and e-bikes. The rebrand aims to create a more seamless experience for riders by bringing bike-share access closer into the broader Lyft ecosystem.
Ocoee is tightening micromobility regulations with a 10 mph sidewalk speed limit, pedestrian-first rules, and restrictions on stunt riding to improve safety.
Massachusetts is moving toward tougher e-bike regulations, with the Senate passing legislation that creates speed tiers and new safety requirements.
Deltona is tightening e-bike and e-scooter regulations with an under-18 riding ban, a 15 mph sidewalk speed limit, and new rules aimed at improving safety.
Orange County School Board has voted for tighter regulations, restricting student access to micromobility devices on campuses amid growing safety concerns.
Enfield is reallocating underused parking bays for shared e-bikes and e-scooters, aiming to improve parking compliance while supporting sustainable transport.

Kansas City has adopted a new safety framework for micromobility, setting location-based speed limits and new operating rules for e-bikes, and e-scooters.
Caledon has clarified its e-scooter regulations, allowing the devices under a local bylaw while enforcing limits on speed, road access, helmet use, and rider age.

Last-Mile Delivery Robots in the US: The Big Players
Autonomous delivery robots are gaining momentum across the US, led by Starship Technologies, Serve Robotics, and Coco Robotics. Donkey Republic Arrives in Helsinki
Donkey Republic has expanded into Helsinki, deploying around 700 next-generation pedal bikes as it strengthens its presence across the Nordics. The new service offers both pay-as-you-go rides and day passes through the Donkey Republic app, marking another step in the company’s strategy of building long-term public-private partnerships in Northern Europe and expanding its network of shared mobility services.
Forest Expands E-Bike Network into Ealing
Forest has launched in the London Borough of Ealing, expanding its dockless e-bike network to 20 boroughs across London. The operator is rolling out 900 bikes in the borough, strengthening connections across West London and creating the capital’s largest continuous shared e-bike network. Forest now serves more than 1.5m customersacross London, with the Ealing expansion linking seamlessly with neighboring boroughs including Brent, Hounslow, and Hammersmith & Fulham. The company will also introduce initiatives focused on affordability and safer riding, including discounted rides for eligible users and its new Forest Force program to address unsafe riding behavior.
Lime Launches Shared Mobility in Bellevue
Lime has launched a new shared micromobility program in Bellevue, Washington, deploying 500 shared vehicles across the city, including 350 e-scooters, 50 e-bikes, and 100 seated gliders. The service aims to support first- and last-mile connections, transit access, and everyday trips while helping reduce congestion. The launch also includes measures such as Lime Access discounted fares, transit-linked ride incentives planned for later this year, and safety guidelines focused on responsible parking, accessible sidewalks, and safer riding.
Hopp Launches E-Bike Sharing in Belfast
Hopp has launched an undocked e-bike sharing service in Belfast, introducing an initial fleet of more than 100 electric bikes through a £250k investment. Users can unlock bikes through the Hopp app with a pay-per-minute pricing model designed for short urban trips. The Iceland-based micromobility operator, which operates in 70+ locations globally, will use geo-fencing, slow-speed zones, and preferred parking areas to manage operations as it looks to expand the fleet and service area based on demand.
Dorset Approves New E-Scooter Trials Across Six Towns
Dorset Council has approved two new e-scooter rental trials covering Weymouth, Dorchester, Portland, Chickerell, Corfe Mullen, and Upton, subject to final approval from the UK Department for Transport. Beryl will operate the Corfe Mullen and Upton scheme as an extension of its successful Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) network, which has recorded more than 936k journeys and 3.15m kilometers over three years, replacing an estimated 318k car trips. The new trials will include geo-fencing, speed limits, designated parking areas, and other safety measures to address concerns around riding behavior and pedestrian safety.
Dorado Unveils High-Performance Electric Dirt Bike
Dorado Motorsports is bringing electric power to the off-road world with its new Dorado V3, a full-size electric dirt bike designed to match the performance of traditional gas-powered models. The bike features a 7.2 kWh swappable battery, 36 kW motor, 80 mph top speed, and 70+ trail mile range, aiming to solve one of the biggest challenges in electric off-road riding: range. With a focus on serious trail performance and a familiar dirt-bike experience, Dorado is positioning the V3 as a new generation of quieter, lower-maintenance electric powersports.
