Lime UK Revenue Grows 75% in 2024
Lime’s UK revenue grew 75% in 2024 to £111.3m, accounting for 20% of its global net revenue. While net profit slightly declined to £1.25m, the UK remains a key market. Lime is investing £20m in its London operations, including £5m to add over 2.5k parking bays, having already installed 930 new bays by September 2025. The company continues to expand its e-bike service across London boroughs.
Voi and eBikeLabs Launch Joint E-Bike R&D Program
Voi has partnered with software company eBikeLabs in a joint research and development program to enhance the performance and energy efficiency of its e-bike fleet. The collaboration will integrate eBikeLabs’ eBikeOS platform, which offers features like fine-tuned motor control and regenerative braking into Voi’s systems, aiming to improve ride comfort, extend battery range, and reduce operational costs. The project, running through 2026, aims to validate these innovations under real-world conditions.

Lime to Launch Bike-Sharing System in Stuttgart Region
Lime has been selected to replace the RegioRad bike-sharing system in the Stuttgart region starting January 2027. The service will begin with 2k e-bikes, half of which will be deployed in Stuttgart, and will operate across 35 participating municipalities. The system will use designated parking zones, including virtual spots visible only in the app, and will not require fixed charging stations. Lime’s sustainable operating concept and strong maintenance and customer service plans were key factors in its selection.
Solent Micromobility Usage Soars
Shared micromobility use in the Solent region, UK, has surged, with operator Voi reporting a 290% increase since 2021, delivering over five million rides. Since June 2024, Voi has been the sole shared micromobility operator in the region. 150k rides were recorded in May 2025, the highest since the scheme launched in 2020. The scheme is a partnership between Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council, and Isle of Wight Council.
Verge Showcases Modular E-Scooter Platform
Verge Motorcycles is set to unveil its first scooter powered by the Verge Next technology platform at the EICMA trade fair in Milan from November 4–9, 2025. Launched in spring 2024, Verge Next is the company’s B2B division focused on accelerating the electrification of urban mobility. The Verge Next platform features the signature donut motor, integrated directly into the wheel and available in power ratings from 2 kW to 15 kW, with torque output ranging from 80 to 350 Nm. Manufacturers can adopt the entire platform as a plug-and-play solution or select individual components for integration into existing systems.
Electric Bicycle Co. from the US, Files for Bankruptcy
Electric Bicycle Co. (EBC), a Costa Mesa-based e-bike assembler, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy with $6.1m in liabilities. Founder Sean Lupton-Smith cited high U.S. tariffs on imported components, rising from 25% to over 55%, as a primary cause, making domestic production uncompetitive. EBC, known for its custom-built e-bikes, had recently attempted a crowdfunding campaign that fell short. Lupton-Smith is now shifting his focus to e-bike safety advocacy.
Brighton & Hove Considers E-Scooter Trial
Brighton & Hove City Council is proposing a regulated e-scooter trial, set to begin in 2026 if approved. The scheme would involve approximately 300 e-scooters, available at around 30 existing Bikeshare hubs operated by Beryl. Key safety measures include a minimum age of 17 with a provisional driving license, a 12.5 mph speed limit, use restricted to roads and cycle lanes, and geofencing to control operating zones. A public consultation will be held before the final decision to provide a legal alternative to private e-scooters and reduce car use.
