Lime’s Updated S-1 Points to a $1.5-1.7B Valuation
Lime has updated its S-1 filing with an IPO price range of $24-$26 per share, implying a market capitalisation of $1.5-$1.7B. The offering covers 6.9m shares, with gross proceeds of approximately $167m and net proceeds to Lime of approximately $141.6m, primarily earmarked to repay its senior secured term loan of approximately $114.2m. Uber and affiliates have indicated interest in purchasing up to $20m of shares. Post-IPO, Lime is expected to secure a $200m revolving credit facility from JP Morgan . After IPO costs, taxes, and debt repayments, Lime’s net cash increase is estimated at $30-$40m, bringing total cash to around $300m. At roughly 2x revenues, the valuation sets a significant public market benchmark for the broader micromobility industry.
What Other Cities Banned Shared E-Scooters?
While a handful of cities have banned shared e-scooters, including Paris, Madrid, and Melbourne, there are cases that are exceptions rather than the rule. Paris voted to remove shared e-scooters in 2023 after a referendum in which nearly 89% of voters supported a ban. Elsewhere, concerns around safety, parking, and street clutter have driven restrictions, but cities such as Copenhagen have later reversed bans and adopted stricter regulations instead. The broader takeaway is that most cities continue to see value in shared micromobility and are increasingly focusing on better management and enforcement rather than outright bans.
Turning Shared Scooters Into Robotic Fleets
Stark Vehicles is betting that the future of shared micromobility may arrive before full autonomy. The startup has developed a teleoperation system that allows shared e-scooters to be remotely driven and repositioned, helping operators reduce costly rebalancing trips and improve fleet availability. Unveiled at Micromobility Europe 2026, the technology retrofits existing scooters with cameras, connectivity, and remote-control capabilities, offering operators a practical path toward more efficient and responsive fleet management.
Lime Breaks Seattle Record with 83k Trips in One Day
Lime set a new all-time single-day ridership record in Seattle on June 19, with more than 83k trips taken as fans moved around the city during the first week of World Cup matches. Over the full week of June 15-21, riders logged more than 300k trips across the city. To support the surge, Lime deployed valet parking zones, temporary geofencing, foot patrol teams, and fleet rebalancing across key event areas, and gave away free helmets to riders. The company also introduced a Fan Pass offering up to 90 minutes of riding for $12.99, available through July 19.

JET Expands Into Mexico City Ahead of World Cup Demand
Shared e-scooter operator JET has launched its micromobility service in Mexico City as part of a broader expansion strategy tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Following pilot programs that generated more than 550 trips across two match-day activations, the company is rolling out an initial fleet of 1k e-scooters in the capital. JET says the pilots demonstrated strong demand for last-mile transport around major events, reinforcing the role shared micromobility could play in helping cities manage increased mobility demand during the World Cup.
EPPTAS and TaiSan Pilot AI Battery Safety for Next-Gen Micromobility
European battery safety company EPTTAS and UK-based battery innovator TaiSan have announced a strategic pilot combining TaiSan’s quasi-solid-state sodium battery technology with EPTTAS’s AI-based Battery Safety Intelligence™ platform. The pilot will explore how predictive AI and battery telemetry can detect early signs of degradation and thermal runaway risk before conventional alarms trigger, targeting one of micromobility’s most persistent safety challenges. TaiSan, which won Gold at the Micromobility Europe Startup Awards, develops sodium batteries designed to be smaller, lighter, and faster-charging than current lithium-ion alternatives. If successful, the collaboration could offer operators earlier visibility into battery health and provide OEMs a path toward stronger safety validation as new battery chemistries move toward commercial deployment.
