Lime - Atlanta & NY City in 2025
Lime riders in Atlanta set new records in 2025, despite the weather. In February, 34.7k riders took 118.2k trips, the highest ever for the month. Ridership is up 62% from 2024 and 200% from 2023.
Lime recorded 200k+ rides in the first two months of 2025 in New York. Half of Lime trips occurred during peak commute hours, showing growing integration with public transit. Lime is investing $10m in New York and plans to invest $8m more yearly, focusing on safety and parking. In Queens, Lime has committed to investing $2.5 million annually starting in 2025 to enhance e-scooter parking and improve safety measures.
Laka Acquires Luko’s E-Scooter Insurance Business
Laka expands into e-scooter insurance by acquiring Allianz Direct’s Luko portfolio, adding 20K customers in France. This move strengthens its European presence, following partnerships with Decathlon and past acquisitions of Cylantro and CoverCloud.
Europe’s Shared Mobility Trips Rise
Fluctuo’s 2024 European Shared Mobility Review highlights a 5% rise in shared mobility trips despite a 4% drop in fleet size.
Key Insights
940k shared vehicles, generating 640m trips and €2.1B revenue (+10%).
Dockless bikes: Ridership surged 58%, led by London (28M trips).
Station based bikes: Paris' Vélib recorded 49M rides, making it Europe's most used service.
Scooter fleets fell 16%, ridership dropped 9%. This is attributed to limiting the fleet in many cities.
Joyride Launches Neon IoT for Smart LEVs
Joyride launched Neon IoT, a turnkey hardware-software solution to transform golf carts, LSVs, and utility vehicles into connected, revenue ready assets. Neon follows Joyride’s recent Yamaha backed Series A funding and it’s no code rental tool, Revii.
Columbus is Partnering with Veo
Columbus launched a shared mobility program with Veo, introducing e-scooters, e-bikes, and pedal bikes. The initial fleet of 500 vehicles will expand over time. 50% of the fleet will be seated vehicles (bikes, e-bikes & seated scooter).
Veo Scooters Return to Rochester
Veo’s shared e-bikes and scooters are back in Rochester for their third year. The vehicles returned on March 8 after the winter break. Last year, Veo recorded over 425k trips.
Nextbike Enters Belgium via Hoppin Mobility Hubs
Shared bike operator Nextbike has launched its first Belgian service in the Vlaamse Rand region, deploying 265 bikes (185 standard, 80 e-bikes) across 31 municipalities via 33 Hoppin mobility hubs.
Toledo Brings Back Electric Scooters for Spring
Toledo, in partnership with Veo, has reintroduced electric scooters just in time for spring. Veo’s fleet will consist of both standing and seated scooter models. In 2024, new bike lanes and paths were added across the city, improving connectivity.
Liverpool Set to Extend E-Scooter Scheme
Liverpool Council is set to extend its e-scooter and e-bike rental scheme until May 2026. The contract with Voi, expiring in June, has generated over £300k annually. Previously, the CityBike scheme was deemed unsustainable, as it suffered a £300k annual loss.
Donkey Republic Reports €19.6m Revenue in 2024
In 2024, Donkey Republic recorded its first year of positive EBIT alongside a 27% revenue increase, reaching €19.6M. The company anticipates revenues of €22.1M to €24.8M in 2025, with EBIT expected to range from €134K to €804K. By 2027, Donkey Republic aims to expand its fleet to 35K from 21.1K bikes in 2024.
Norfolk Expands its E-Bikes Fleet
Norfolk County Council adds 50 new Beryl e-bikes to its shared micromobility scheme, marking five years since its launch in the city. Since 2020 1.85m trips have been recorded and a 20% rise in trips from 2023 to 2024.
China’s E-Bike Sales Surge
China's e-bike trade-in program has distributed $139.5m in subsidies to 1.65m consumers in 2025. Over 1.66m new e-bikes have been sold in 2025 under the program, surpassing 2024’s total volume. Since its launch in Sept 2024, ~3m e-bikes have been sold, generating $622.5m in sales.
Ride Mobility Expands to Tallinn
Ride Mobility will launch its mopeds in Tallinn, Estonia, expanding to its third country after Latvia and Lithuania. Over time, 1k mopeds will be added to the fleet. Moped speed is limited to 25 km/h.
Harlow Joins Essex E-Scooter Trial
The e-scooter trial will be rolled out in Harlow, the fifth area of Essex County. E-scooters will be available for hire or subscription until May 2026. A trial already exists in four Essex areas: Colchester, Braintree, Chelmsford, and Basildon.
