Honda Launches Fastport eQuad
Honda has established Fastport, a B2B micromobility venture, introducing the eQuad prototype, an electric quadricycle designed for bike-lane deliveries in urban areas. Featuring swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack batteries, regenerative braking, and modular cargo boxes (up to 295 kg payload), the eQuad targets efficiency and zero emissions. Production begins late 2025 at Honda’s Ohio facility, with a Fleet-as-a-Service (FaaS) model offering AI-driven fleet management, maintenance, and over-the-air updates. Pilot programs are currently underway in North America and Europe, ahead of a wider rollout in 2026.

Waterloo Region Launches Inclusive E-Bike Program
Waterloo Region has introduced adaptive e-bikes, including upright tricycles and handcycles, to its shared micromobility fleet in partnership with Neuron Mobility, marking Canada’s first inclusive program by a shared provider. This initiative builds on the program’s existing success, which witnessed 173.7k rides in 2024.
Finland Tightens E-Scooter Regulations
Finland has banned e-scooter use by children under 15 and now requires municipal licences for rental companies to operate, effective June 17, 2025. The legislation, passed by parliament, aims to address growing safety concerns. Additional rules enforce automobile-level blood alcohol limits, a ban on drug-impaired riding, and a 25 kph speed cap. Rental operators in Finland include Lime, Voi Technology, Ryde Technology, and Tier-Dott. Companies may face fines for allowing underage use.
Vässla and Teenage Engineering Launch EPA-1
Vässla has teamed up with Teenage Engineering to launch the EPA-1, a sleek and highly customizable electric scooter. It offers two versions: Class 1 (up to 45 km/h with a 2,600 W motor, license required) and Class 2 (up to 25 km/h with a 1,000 W motor, no license). The e-scooter is priced around SEK 19.9k (~$2k), EPA‑1 will begin wider roll-out, including more colors and a battery-lease option, in Q3 2025.
VanMoof Returns with S6
VanMoof has made a strong comeback two years after its 2023 bankruptcy, unveiling the new S6 e-bike at Micromobility Europe 2025. This is its first launch under new management post-McLaren Applied acquisition. The S6 maintains VanMoof's sleek, custom-built design philosophy while incorporating more reliable, modular components co-developed with manufacturers like Panasonic. Deliveries are slated for August in key European markets, with expansion into the US later this year.
Lime Cuts Emission by 66%
Lime achieved a 66.8% reduction in carbon emissions intensity in 2024 compared to its 2019 baseline, keeping the company two years ahead of its 2030 net-zero target. This includes progress across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by improving shipping, switching to electric fleets, using 100% renewable energy, and designing longer-lasting vehicles. Key partnerships with Hight Logistics, Redwood Materials, VoltR, and Cyclic Materials are helping Lime cut emissions in logistics, battery reuse, and material recycling.
Bolt Expands London's E-Bike Fleet
Bolt will launch in London this summer, adding thousands of e-bikes to the city’s existing 50k vehicle fleet and competing with operators like Lime and Voi. Bolt pledges collaboration with Transport for London (TfL) and local authorities on safety, while city officials call for unified regulations across London’s 33 boroughs to address the regulation of dockless bikes.
Bird Expands Fleet to Boost Urban Mobility
Bird has launched an enhanced fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, including the Explorer (casual e-bike), Journey (commuter e-bike), and Dash (e-scooter), designed to offer safer, more comfortable urban travel, featuring improved braking, lighting, and sensors. Rolling out first in Denver, Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Austin in summer 2025, with global expansion later in the year. The initiative reinforces Bird’s focus on integrated transport networks, emission reduction, and urban livability.
Montreal's BIXI Shatters Records
Montreal’s BIXI bike-share service saw unprecedented ridership during a 9-day public transit strike (June 9–17, 2025), with users completing over 700k trips. Daily trips exceeded 80k on seven strike days, peaking at 98.5k trips, shattering 2024’s single-day record of 79.9k. Rush-hour demand hit 10k trips per hour (3 rentals per second systemwide), prompting BIXI to deploy extra staff, "valet" parking for full stations, and AI-driven bike redistribution. Citywide cycling surged 36% above prior records.
Lime Exits North Shore Market
Lime will end its e-bike share operations in Metro Vancouver’s North Shore communities on June 30, 2025, as its permit expires. The City of North Vancouver, managing the service for surrounding districts, has chosen a new operator, which will be announced soon. Lime launched the pilot in 2021 and recorded over 326k trips.
Ireland Releases New Shared Mobility Policy
Ireland’s Department of Transport has published a new policy mandating shared mobility hubs in every local authority, supporting goals from the National Sustainable Mobility Policy and Climate Action Plans. The policy defines shared mobility as privately rented transport (e.g. e-bikes, e-scooters, EVs), excluding public transit and carpooling.
