Yamaha is teasing that its boundary-pushing new ebikes will come equipped with next-gen tech like two-wheel drive and power steering.

Gogoro is going offroad. The Taiwanese company, best known for its practical city mopeds, says its new CrossOver is the first “two-wheel SUV.” The CrossOver has built in cargo space and is easily customizable to carry more with the addition of luggage racks making it fit for both urban commuting and lighter off-road treks.

BMW has begun production on a new, more affordable commuter electric motorcycle. The CE 02, which is primarily geared towards a younger, urban demographic, will reach a top speed of 59 mph (95 km/h) and claim a range of up to 56 miles (90 km).

Texas-based manufacturer Volcon has started shipping its new off-road motorcycle, the Grunt EVO motorcycle, to dealers. 

Shift Robotics has launched Moonwalkers, which it is calling the world’s fastest shoes. These electric skates strap onto the bottom of your shoes, allowing you to walk up to 2.5x faster. The AI drivetrain adapts to the user’s gait, speeding up and slowing down as needed.

Belgium-based bike maker Neco’s E-Pop electric moped looks a lot like the Honda Ruckus, but is a bit smaller and more compact, making it a fun, zippy urban commuter. The two-wheeler reaches a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) and has enough juice for 37 miles of range (60 km).

Propain has unveiled the Ekano 2 CF electric mountain bike, an improvement over the previous Ekano 2 AL model. This high-performance ebike features a lightweight carbon fiber frame suitable for extreme terrain and jumping. It’s powered by the Sram Eagle Powertrain with 90 Newton-meters of torque, two pedal assist modes, and compatibility with Sram Transmission AXS for electronic shifting. Pricing starts at $7,794 for the base model, with higher-end versions available up to $11,299.

Ride1Up’s new Portola is making waves for its $1,000 price point. The company’s first folding ebike ships as a 20 mph (32 km/h) Class 2 model, but users can unlock Class 3 performance using the bike’s display to reach speeds up to 28 mph (45 km/h).

Anod’s new Hybrid boasts a unique electrical system. The ebike incorporates a combination of lithium ion battery technology and supercapacitors which can store and release energy quickly improving performance and shortening charging time. 

Juiced Bikes’ entire vehicle lineup has attained UL-certification. UL 2849 and UL 2771 standards are becoming more common as companies seek to reduce the risk of ebike battery fires.

Nope, that’s not a Mars rover, it’s the Space Mobility prototype from Toyota, a four-wheeled off-road machine with quad motors.

That’s not all. Toyota’s patent-pending Land Hopper, an electric folding three-wheeler with a moped configuration, will likely make its debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

Slovenia-based Flux Performance showcased its new electric dirt bike: the Flux Primo. The Primo runs on a 7kWh swappable battery pack, claims a peak power rating of 63 kW (85 horsepower), and incorporates innovative smart tech. 

Latvia-based startup QU-ET’s new ebike is called the “Unfair Advantage” because looks so much like a regular bike. Hidden in the sleek frame is a 250W hub motor and a 250Wh battery offering up to 37 miles (60 km) of range.
