Bird is EBITDA Positive for the First Time
Third Lane Mobility, that operates both BIRD and SPIN brands reported $204m in Gross Bookings for 2024, up 17% vs 2023 and a positive EBITDA of $19.2m, up 193%, marking its first profitable year in EBITDA terms. Total trips were almost up ~50% to 35m trips. Net revenue per trip was $5.44, much higher than Lime’s $3.43. The company is arranging upto $45m in financing commitments to fund growth and to acquire 45k additional e-scooters.
Belgium Shared Micromobility Stats (2024)
Belgium’s shared micromobility landscape includes 21.7k shared bikes and 18.7k shared scooters, contributing to nearly 24m trips made by 2m users in 2024. Flanders leads in bike usage, while Brussels dominates in scooter use.
Sydney Trials E-Bike Parking Zones
Sydney is trialling curbside parking for shared e-bikes to reduce clutter, starting in Haymarket with more bays planned. Nearly 2m rides were recorded in 2024, doubling 2023’s total. Councils may mandate parking zones and cap bike numbers to improve regulation.

Gary’s Cycle219 Bike Share Returns in Indiana
GPTC’s Cycle219 bike share returns to Gary, Indiana, in March after a winter break. The scheme was launched in 2024, rentals cost $1.50 per 30 minutes or $25 annually. GPTC acquired 22 bikes (20 traditional, 2 e-bikes) but deployed only half last year.
Bingo Technologies Raises $1.9m
Bingo Technologies has secured $1.9M in seed funding led by Trucks VC to drive its expansion into Europe and North America in 2025. Its "one battery, any vehicle" platform powers a wide range of electric mopeds, tuk-tuks, buggies, and L7e-class cars, enabling last-mile logistics, ride-hailing, and rentals. With rapid growth in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, Bingo is also targeting low-speed EV fleets in North Americawith retrofit solutions for golf cars and neighborhood EVs.
Port Moody to Launch E-Scooter & Bike Share
Port Moody, Canada, will roll out an e-bike and e-scooter share this summer, starting with 150 vehicles and expanding to 250 by year’s end. The program runs for at least two years, with a possible third year extension. The city is currently seeking an operator.
Edmonton Launches Winter E-Bike Pilot
In Canada, Edmonton launches winter mobility with Lime's e-bike pilot project. Since 2019, 500k users have taken over 3m rides, with 1.06m rides in 2023 alone from 190k riders.
Syracuse Extends Veo Bike Share
Syracuse has extended Veo’s bike and scooter share for another year after approving a new contract. In 2023, over 500k rides were taken on more than 1k vehicles. Veo plans to expand equity programs and introduce a commuter membership.
Grand Junction Expands E-Scooter Program
In Colorado, Grand Junction is replacing its e-scooter pilot with a permanent program. Lime and Bird will continue operations under a new permit system. Since May 2023, riders have taken 190k trips covering 286k miles. The program includes expanded mandatory parking zones.
Voi Expands E-Bike Fleet in Cambridge
Voi has introduced the lighter Explorer Light 1 e-bike in Cambridge, adding 220 bikes. In 2025, the pickup zone is expected to double, expanding across the city. Over 4.3m rides have been recorded in the city.
