Citi Bike Leads the Docked Bikeshare Systems in US
In 2024, 53 docked bikeshare systems operated 8.8k stations in the U.S. The number of docked bikeshare systems grew from 66 in 2015 to 109 in 2019, and post-COVID, there was a steady decline. This is mostly due to bikeshare systems that temporarily paused operations permanently stopping post-COVID.
POGOH Adds E-Cargo Bikes
Pittsburgh's POGOH will add e-cargo bikes through a $1m federal grant led by CMU to optimize pricing, charging, and provide cleaner transport for gig services. Two other Pittsburgh projects include $750k to address low-speed EV regulations and develop permitting pathways for private curb side EV chargers, enhancing infrastructure.

Tier-Dott Hit 100 Million Rides in 2024
TIER-Dott reached 100 million rides in 2024 across Europe and the Middle East, with 10 million users in 400+ cities. Over the past year, TIER-Dott secured new tenders and renewals in cities like Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Tel Aviv.
Washington State to Launch E-Bike Rebates
Washington State's e-bike rebate program, launching in April 2025, offers $300 rebates or up to $1.2k for low-income households earning below 80% of the county's median income. 8.5k applicants will receive rebates, funded by the Climate Commitment Act ($5m), with 60% reserved for low-income participants via lottery.
Italy's New E-Scooter Rules Impact Revenues
Italy's new Highway Code, introduced in December 2024, led to a 30% drop in electric scooter rentals in major cities and a 30-50% decline in private sales within a month. This could also reduce sector revenue by €300m, result in €62m in VAT lost by 2030 and cause significant job losses.
Oregon Proposes Class 3 E-Bike Ban From Sidewalks
Oregon's proposed Senate Bill 471 seeks to ban Class 3 e-bikes from sidewalks, bike lanes, and paths, with exemptions for bike lane use if it is exclusively human-powered. Violations would be Class D traffic offenses. Additionally, the bill eliminates certain right-of-way protections for Class 3 riders. These changes are expected to take effect in 2025.
Zaragoza Launches Bizi E-Bike Network
Zaragoza, in partnership with Serveo and Lyft Urban Solutions, is launching Spain's third-largest public e-bike system, Bizi. The network will include 2.5k electric bikes and 276 stations, with 207 offering in-dock charging. The initial rollout of 1k bikes and 108 stations will expand citywide by October.
Saskatoon to Approve Shared E-Scooters Soon
The Saskatoon Transportation Committee voted to approve shared e-scooter program in the city, with two vendors possibly operating up to 500 scooters. Permits will last five years, with a $22k fee plus $100 per parking area. A final council vote is pending.

Beam Suspends E-Scooters in Kalgoorlie-Boulder
Beam Mobility has decided to end its e-scooter services in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia, by the end of January, citing antisocial behavior as the reason for the exit. The council's review was due in March.
Malaga Moves to Ban E-Scooters
Malaga plans to ban e-scooter and e-bike sharing due to permit violations and enforcement issues. Seven companies, including Dott, Bolt, and Lime operate vehicles in the city. Companies have 10 days to appeal, but the council remains firm.

Lime Scooters Hits 500K Rides in Kelowna
In 2024, Lime Scooters achieved over 500k rides in Kelowna, contributing to a total of 1.4m since the program’s launch. July saw a peak of nearly 100k rides. Lime in partnership with the city added 13 new parking spaces, with the fleet capped at 700 e-scooters and 300 e-bikes.
Bristol Installs Bike Hangars
Bristol will install 40 bike hangars, each storing six bikes, starting February 2025. Supported by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and Active Travel England, a total of 80 hangars will be installed across the West of England. Spaces cost £55/year.
Derbyshire Police Crackdown 200+ E-Scooters
Derbyshire Police have seized 205 illegal e-scooters, including over 100 in December alone. Private e-scooters can only be used on public land, if hired through a government approved scheme and meet legal requirements.
Mount Pleasant Approves New Micromobility Project
Mount Pleasant, approved the $166k “Ben Marino Way Micromobility Project” to add sidewalks, bike lanes, lighting, and a 20 mph speed limit. Construction starts mid-February to April, lasting four months. Oceanside Collegiate Academy contributed $80k; the council will fund the rest.
