Dott Reports €28.4m Revenue in Q1 2026
Dott reported €28.4m in Q1 2026 revenue, down 6% YoY, though underlying revenue grew 1% after adjusting for markets the company exited in 2025. A leaner fleet of 124k vehicles drove stronger per-vehicle economics, with DMC more than doubling to €5.0m and margin expanding to 18%. EBIT narrowed to -€19.2m from -€27.0m, and Adjusted EBITDA losses improved to -€4.0m from -€8.8m. Dott is rolling out 45k new vehicles across Europe, added city licenses in several markets, and reaffirmed its FY 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance of €30-40m.
The Impact 6G may have on Micromobility
From centimeter-level geofencing to autonomous delivery fleets, 6G could completely reshape the future of micromobility. With latency expected to drop from 10ms on 5G to under 1ms and networks capable of supporting up to 100m devices per square kilometer, the next-generation standard could enable real-time vehicle communication, AR-powered rider safety tools, and far more precise management of shared scooters and bikes. While commercial rollout is still years away, 6G may ultimately turn micromobility into a fully integrated layer of smart city infrastructure.
How Ryde Quietly Cracked Micromobility’s Growth Paradox
As much of the micromobility industry grappled with shrinking margins and operational setbacks, Ryde Technology quietly built one of Europe’s more sustainable growth stories. The Nordic operator increased revenue from €46.9m in 2024 to €75.5m in 2025 while maintaining a strong 23% EBIT margin, a rare feat in a sector once defined by aggressive expansion and mounting losses. Segway Expands Myon E-Bike Lineup
Segway is expanding its premium Myon e-bike lineup with a new XS/S frame size and a fresh “Minty Fresh” color option, targeting a broader range of urban commuters. Built around the company’s Intelligent Ride System, the Myon combines connected features like GPS tracking, Apple Find My integration, remote locking, and automatic lighting with performance specs including up to 80 miles of range, 85 Nm torque, and electronic shifting. The new smaller frame accommodates riders from 5’1” to 5’10”, reflecting Segway’s push to make high-tech commuter e-bikes more accessible as demand for connected micromobility continues to grow.
Panasonic Unveils Updated XEALT L3 Urban E-Bike
Panasonic, one of Japan’s largest consumer electronics and battery manufacturers, has launched the 2026 edition of its XEALT L3 urban e-bike. Designed for city commuting and light touring, the refreshed model features hydraulic disc brakes, upgraded road tires, through-axles for improved stability, and a lightweight aluminum frame. Powered by Panasonic’s electric assist system, the bike delivers up to 90 km of range in Eco mode and comes with multiple riding assist settings tailored for urban use. The XEALT L3 is set to go on sale in Japan from June 2026 at a starting price of ¥238k.

The authors find that bike-sharing plays a dual role in urban mobility, acting as a feeder for mass transit by addressing first- and last-mile challenges, while also serving as a direct alternative that substitutes some public transport trips.

A 2025 peer-reviewed study explores strategies for integrating shared micromobility with public transport systems, drawing on a synthesis of existing literature and interviews with 25 transport professionals. The authors identify integration dimensions including institutional coordination and find that clear stakeholder leadership, collaboration, and coordinated planning are critical to creating a reliable and accessible mobility network that offers competitive alternatives to car travel.

A 2025 peer-reviewed scoping review examines the relationship between e-scooter use and physical activity, synthesising evidence from studies across the Scopus, WoS, PubMed, and TRID databases. The authors find that while e-scooters offer slightly more physical activity than motorised vehicles, they involve less physical exertion than walking or cycling and could contribute to increased sedentary behaviour, particularly for less active people. The study calls for greater disaggregation of data by micromobility type and sociodemographic group, and recommends future qualitative research on user perceptions.

Marquette Moves Forward on New E-Bike Rules
The Marquette City Commission in Michigan has voted to move forward with new e-bike regulations that would allow Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes, along with certain low-power micromobility devices, to use city bike paths. The proposal would also introduce a reckless riding ordinance focused on unsafe behaviour such as excessive speed, rather than banning specific devices. City officials said the goal is to improve safety while adapting to the growing popularity of e-bikes and micromobility devices.
Amazon Expands E-Cargo Bike Deliveries to Washington, D.C.
Amazon has launched a 10-month pilot in Washington, D.C., using up to 15 four-wheeled electric cargo bikes for package deliveries as part of its push to reduce emissions and congestion in dense urban areas. The pilot marks Amazon’s second U.S. e-cargo bike trial after New York City and operates from a microhub in Southwest D.C. The company says it delivered 170m packages globally using micromobility options like e-bikes, mopeds, and pushcarts in 2024, up from 125m in 2023. Amazon already operates e-cargo bike networks across cities including London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, and Milan, while continuing to expand micromobility hubs and alternative delivery fleets worldwide.
