What You Need to Know This Week
Lyft is doubling its micromobility footprint by acquiring Canadian bikeshare supplier PBSC. The deal will expand Lyft’s operations to 7,500 stations and 95,000 bikes spread across 45 markets in 15 countries.
And Lyft’s not the only ridehailer betting big on micromobility. Estonia’s Bolt says it will spend $160M to scale up its electric scooter and bike operations this year, bringing its total fleet up to 230,000 vehicles. The company says the decision was informed by explosive growth in its scooter division, where ridership was up 500% in March, year-over-year.
Speaking of monster investments, Swiggy has led a $180M financing round into bike taxi startup Rapido as the Indian food delivery giant looks to broaden its fleet network across the country.

The losses coincide with a period of intense diversification for Helbiz, including forays into ghost kitchens, retail escooters, long-term car rentals, and even a sports streaming platform.
